Before this war I worked in various jobs in law enforcement. I decided to come to Ukraine after I saw a russian missile hit a hospital in Kyiv. The women and children were just devastated. It was a disaster. And I realized when I saw that, I couldn’t just sit back and be motivated to come to Ukraine.
Ukraine is a very diverse country. It keeps me in shape and makes life more interesting. Because there is always something unusual around the corner. I would say that everything changes quickly here.
This war taught me a lot. Some life lessons are terrible, some are normal, some are wonderful. In my opinion, the biggest lesson is that the war taught me to be humble. In life, sometimes it’s better to say less and just do your job, do what you came here to do and move on.
My advice to those who are thinking about coming to Ukraine and joining the Ukrainian army is to think it over carefully. It depends on the person — and it’s not an easy decision. For many people, it can be life-changing. The best thing to do is start by talking to a few people who have been or are in Ukraine and listen to their advice. Then fill out the form and simply follow the instructions given by the recruiters.
The fact that there are no russians in Kyiv, Kharkiv, or Zaporizhia, that they did not occupy Ukraine — that already means that Ukraine is winning.
Glory to Ukraine!
