Lince
Volunteer from Spain
I am 33 years old. In Spain I worked in the field of private security. The reason for my arrival in Ukraine was the news about the war. I decided to come here to make my contribution to the defense of this country from aggression.
I have been in Ukraine since 2024, serving as part of the 2nd International Legion. Here I met people from all over the world - Mexicans, Colombians, Americans, English, French, Italians. Maybe I forgot to mention someone. My military specialty is a sniper. In my country there is an animal - a lynx, and it is thanks to its good eyesight that it became a symbol of my work.
We were on the front in Donbas, fighting in the Luhansk region. I operated along the entire trench line. Once I asked the commander if I could operate at a neighboring position where a Ukrainian unit was stationed. The commander allowed it, and since then I have fought side by side with many Ukrainians. For my participation in the battles I was awarded the Iron Cross — one of the highest awards of Ukraine for foreigners.
I wish all the best to those who are thinking of coming to Ukraine and I want to give three pieces of advice.
The first is to realize that there is a war here and be morally prepared for the tests. If you have military experience, it will come in handy.
The second is to listen to instructors and people with experience of being on the front. They are with you not just for that, but to pass on their experience. Thorough military training is a great advantage of the Ukrainian army.
The third is that on the front line you need to listen to more experienced fighters, especially if you are a beginner, and always follow the orders of your commanders. This can save your life.
Ukraine reminds me in many ways of Spain — with its geography, cities, and the character of its people. I really like it.
Ukraine is a wonderful country in which you can live well.
Glory to Ukraine!
