During the Russo-Ukrainian War, the units of the 128th Brigade were among the first ones to go east in the spring of 2014, showing their courage and professionalism in the battles and combat missions.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the 128th Brigade defended our country on the Zaporizhia direction, then took an active part in the de-occupation of the Kherson region. In 2023, the brigade's combat units were holding the line on the Bakhmut and Zaporizhia directions, where they also took part in a counteroffensive with significant results. Today, the 128th also is holding combat positions in Zaporizhia.
